Marrakech's principal districts

Before deciding where to go on your next trip, you should familiarize yourself with the major districts of the lovely city of Marrakech if you're planning a vacation there.

MEDINA

The bustling center of Marrakech is the medina. It is the biggest ancient market in all of North Africa and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are many must-see sites, historic monuments, and traditional riads in this area! The Place Jemaa el Fna is a prime illustration.

If you're looking for quiet, you should avoid the Medina because it's a very busy area. However, it continues to be the best option for travelers looking for a genuine, far-off experience in Marrakech.

DOWNTOWN - GUELIZ AND WINTERING

The city center, with its boulevards, Royal Theater, brand-new train station, shops, eateries, and opulent hotels, presents a very different side of Marrakech. Catch a peek of Marrakech in the modern era.

The city center caters to individuals who enjoy going shopping.

PALM GROVE

The palm grove is an incredibly opulent setting. You can enjoy the fresh air, beautifully open spaces, gardens, and golf courses in this neighborhood.

La Palmeraie is the ideal community for people seeking a peaceful setting near the city center. It's essential for golfers!

OURIKA ROUTE

The Ourika road has a number of tourist attractions (between 5km and 30km from the town). There are many benefits to lodging here, including: affordability, atmosphere, space, and quiet.

You will require transportation of your own due to its location. But the best thing about the area—especially for those looking to unwind—is how isolated it is.

AGDAL

Near the city center, the Agdal district is home to the major hotel chains, retail centers, golf courses, and expansive real estate developments.

If you're looking for a less genuine experience, the commercial Agdal district is perfect.

SIDI GHANEM

Require a vacation from the medina? Some of the chicest designers in Marrakech have their studios in the industrial zone. In contrast to the old town, you'll find more modern products in the showrooms and workspaces.

MELLAH

The old Jewish quarter is located in the medina. You can admire the souks and the Alzama Synagogue in the central courtyard while enjoying a cup of Berber tea.

KASBAH

The Kasbah is greeted by the magnificent Bab Agnaou entrance, just as courtiers did centuries ago. The spirit of Marrakech is still present here. You can take in the true essence of the city and take in the beauty of the Royal Palace, with its historic streets beckoning you in with a calm and its vendors less pushy.
